overview
Gulf Crossing Pipeline Company LLC is a new interstate natural gas pipeline that provides takeaway capacity from the Barnett Shale in Texas and the Caney/Woodford Shale in Oklahoma. It begins near Sherman, Texas extending to the Perryville, Louisiana area.
Part of Boardwalk Pipeline Partners, LP
Gulf Crossing is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Boardwalk Pipeline Partners, LP, a master limited partnership engaged through its subsidiaries in the interstate transportation and storage of natural gas. Boardwalk's system extends along the Gulf Coast up to the Midwest.
In addition to Gulf Crossing (shown below with a thick red line), Boardwalk has two other subsidiaries:
Gulf South Pipeline (shown in blue) is a "web-like" system that gathers gas from basins between Texas and Alabama and delivers it to on-system markets within its footprint and to off-system markets in the Northeast and Southeast through interconnections with third-party pipelines.
Texas Gas Transmission (shown with a thin red line) is a traditional "long-haul" pipeline that moves gas from Gulf Coast supply areas to more distant on-system markets in the Midwest and to off-system markets in the Northeast via interconnections with third-party pipelines.
Gulf Crossing will interlink with two of Gulf South's expansion projects (the East Texas to Mississippi Expansion and the Southeast Expansion), allowing gas to flow to Transcontinental Pipeline's Station 85 (Rock Springs / Scott Mountain), a key third-party pipeline accessing the Northeast.
